The Throttle Slide Ball Plunger Screw is installed on the side of the carburetor throttle slide and works together with the click adjustment mechanism to provide the characteristic click-style detent feel during metering rod adjustment. By interacting with the corresponding spring and ball components, it creates the precise “click” indexing sensation used for accurate adjustment positioning.
If this screw becomes damaged or worn, replacement may be necessary. Due to the use of high-strength threadlocker during factory assembly, the original screw typically cannot be removed using a standard hex wrench. Removal usually requires carefully drilling out the original screw using a 2.5mm drill bit. After removal, the threads should be cleaned and restored using an M3×0.5 tap before installing the new screw.
During installation, a small amount of high-strength threadlocker should be applied to the new screw threads before installation. The screw should be tightened fully to the bottom, then backed out approximately 3/4 of a turn counterclockwise to achieve the correct operating position.
